Our golf guy

At 3 or 4 years of age, Zac found a passion all on his own. With a plastic golf set, some practice golf balls, he would practice his golf swing in the back yard regardless of the weather. Picture a 5 year old all bundled up head to toe out in the snow covered yard to play, chasing the neon orange ball with his club. We were amazed at his focus and attention he gave the sport. Zac also took an interest in watching golf on television with his Dad. His favorite golfer is Phil Michelson. After breaking a few of the plastic sets, he now has a hand-me-down set of clubs sized for a 10-12 year old rather than a (then )5 y/o. He eventually took his first lessons last summer. Here is a short video of his swing at a range taken this past spring. Even though he swings with clubs way too big for him, he has a smooth, natural swing. People of all ages stop to watch him. It is a site to see the consistency, skill and swing mechanics he possesses at such a young age. He is as good as his love for the sport. See for yourself.

I wish my grandfather was here to see it. Russell Perry, my mom's Dad, played his entire life and was a very talented golfer. So, Zac has three generations of golfers cheering him on and in awe of his natural abilities.

Diamondbacks Season 2010

2010 was another great year playing on Team Diamondbacks. We had the same coach and same group of kids together as we did last year. The players really have pulled together their skills and made some nice plays! They have progressed to soft pitch. Mild spring nights with lasting light, popsicles, and smiles were the highlights of every game.
